Policies and Fees
I offer a 15 minute free phone consultation for potential clients to answer questions and begin determining if we are a good fit therapeutically.
Individual therapy sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes. For individuals who may need more time, extended sessions up to 90 minutes are available when scheduled ahead.
*I realize being late is unavoidable sometimes. Please know your session will still need to end at the time it was originally scheduled so I can be prompt with appointments that follow yours.
Rates (Sliding Scale offered, please inquire if needed)
Individual 60 minutes: $135; Initial evaluation and client portal set up: $150
*Please don't allow the cost to keep you from taking care of yourself. Reach out to me to discuss.
Billing and Payment for Services
Payment may be made by cash, check and credit card (including health insurance benefits card). Fees for services are payable at the time services are delivered unless other arrangements are made in advance.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice, preferably by phone. Email is not as reliable in terms of time. Insurance does not pay for missed sessions, so unfortunately a full fee for the session is charged for no-show cancellations and a $100 fee with less than a 24 hour notice unless due to Covid-related illness or an extreme emergency. Thank you for your consideration regarding this important matter and for giving me 24 hours to offer your session to another client.
Insurance
I currently take the following insurances:
Anthem, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Optima and Medicare.
*It is important to me that everyone have access to affordable, experienced therapy options. If I don't take your insurance, I'm happy to refer you to other therapists who do or avenues to find what you need.
You are always welcome to self-pay. Ask me about my sliding scale for self-pay clients if you'd like to use this option. Although you'll pay more out of pocket than when using insurance, some good news is that by paying directly for therapy you ensure complete privacy. Insurance requires that your information become part of your health record. By paying directly, a third party is not making decisions about your care: You are completely in control.
In addition, if you're financially able to pay directly for therapy this avoids any need to medicalize our work or assign diagnoses (unless absolutely clinically necessary). Unfortunately, insurance companies will not pay for psychotherapy unless you have a behavioral/mental health diagnosis. The self-pay option allows you to seek out a therapist for life's inevitable struggles without having to medically label that need.
