Francesca LoMonaco, LCSW
The 20+ years of broad, diverse and illuminating human service experience has brought me to open my private practice. I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) in 1993. After realizing the joy and growth that comes from working with people therapeutically, I decided to attend graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University and earned my Masters of Social Work (MSW) in 2000. I have since worked in private and public schools, residential treatment programs, non-profit agencies and in home-based therapeutic settings. I have also enjoyed being a crisis management trainer for over 10 years for school and agency staff, administrators and parents. For too short a period of time I loved working as a postpartum doula, helping new parents at home after childbirth by providing information, physical assistance, and emotional support.
Areas of professional experience include, but are not limited to:
Personally, I am the mother of a young boy super hero (only a mom would say that) who continues to be my greatest teacher. In my younger days I loved playing soccer and rugby, but in caring for my body I now enjoy swimming, hiking, yoga and Nia. Cooking fun foods, communing in nature and laughing out loud are some of my favorite things to do. I am passionate about fighting for human rights, listening to children, caring for Mother Earth, playing with my inner child and discovering awesomeness.
